Charles Carmakal

CTO, Mandiant Consulting (part of Google Cloud)

Charles Carmakal is the Chief Technology Officer of Mandiant Consulting, the security consulting organization of Google Cloud. He oversees a team of incident responders, analysts, and security consultants that have helped thousands of organizations respond to complex security breaches orchestrated by foreign governments and organized criminals. Charles led the teams that discovered and responded to some of the most impactful security events, including the SolarWinds supply chain attack and the Colonial Pipeline cyber disruption. Charles has over 20 years of experience helping organizations become more resilient to cyber attacks.

Charles has significant experience helping Fortune 500 organizations build and enhance security programs to combat advanced attacks. He provides strategic security guidance to executive leadership and boards of directors.

Charles has testified before Congress on multiple cybersecurity topics. He is regularly interviewed by mainstream media organizations and has been included in hundreds of television and print stories on cybersecurity topics.

Prior to joining Mandiant, Mr. Carmakal served in various leadership roles within PwC in the US and Australia. He received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Decision and Information Sciences from the University of Florida.

Andreas Wuchner is an experienced and recognized senior executive leader with extensive international general management experience of global diversified businesses and a proven track record. He has held positions in Switzerland, Germany, USA, Australia and the United Kingdom.

 Andreas served as General Manager (CIO), Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Head IT Security & Operations, Head IT Risk Control and Head IT Risk Management/Governance & Compliance for several large scale and international organizations including Novartis Pharmaceuticals, UBS, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse and Hewlett Packard.

 He also served on company advisory and supervisory boards helping cyber start-up organizations with his experience in Strategic planning, go-to Market activities, financing advice for seed funding and round A to C plus product/service design.

 As an Angel Investor Andreas invests in Cyber Security organizations where he then participates actively in the growth and future of the organization in scope.

 With more than 25 years of experience and knowledge in all aspects of Information Security, IT-Security & Information Risk management, Andreas supports clients all over the world with his own 2 companies. His special focus areas are within highly regulated environments such as life science and financial services.

Rick Peristere is a Managing Partner at the security and business intelligence consulting firm Sentinel. He is a former Senior Executive and 24-year veteran of the Central Intelligence Agency and the US
Department of State with extensive leadership experience and deep regional expertise driving analysis and global operations. Peristere held a series of senior leadership positions in Washington and overseas, including as Chief of Staff to the Director of CIA, the Chief of Staff to two Deputy Directors of CIA, the Deputy Assistant Director of CIA for the Western Hemisphere, and as a senior US Embassy official in Paris, France. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including two CIA Director’s Awards, the Meritorious Presidential Rank Award, and the Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal.

SSA Orin Paliwoda

Orin Paliwoda is a Program Manager for the Major Cyber Crime Unit (MCCU) at FBI Cyber Division. MCCU addresses high-priority ransomware and malware cases conducted by criminal actors. As a Case Agent at the FBI New York Office, Paliwoda led investigations into state-sponsored intrusions and specialized in APT threats originating from Asia. He also served as a Cyber ALAT in Israel and Taiwan providing guidance to foreign partners. Prior to his appointment to the FBI, Paliwoda practiced Cyber and Intellectual Property Law.
